CLOTHING ASSISTANCE AND NEW MOMS

Clothing Assistance Central Baptist Church in Corbin, KY

CLOTHING ASSISTANCE

At Central, we have noticed an overwhelming need in our community. Because of that need, we felt led to open our Matthew Ministry which provides clothing for anyone ages 5 and up. Anyone desiring assistance from this ministry is encouraged to visit the Matthew Ministry Center located at the corner of Poplar St. and 4th St. on Tuesday mornings from 10am-12pm.

We have a donation drop box located on the porch of the 4th St. entrance. If you have any clothing that you want to donate to help with this ministry, please drop them into the drop box at any time.

NEW MOMS

“For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition that I made to him.” – 1 Samuel 1:27 (ESV)

The Manger Ministry provides resources for newborns, children up to the age of 4, and their families. It also serves as an outreach to any mother or expectant mother in the community. Anyone desiring assistance from this ministry can visit the Manger Ministry Building located at the corner of 5th St. and Kentucky St. on Tuesday mornings from 10am-12pm.

REQUEST PRAYER

At Central, we believe that prayer is a crucial element of the Christian walk. We see examples of different kinds of prayers all throughout the Bible. It is also commanded of us to pray:

  • “Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18)
  • “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  • “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.” (James 5:13)
  • “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”  (Romans 12:12)
  • “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
